Paul was a great friend and mentor to me when I moved to Lexington in 1984. He took me under his big wing and taught me so much about dentistry and life. I was blessed to know him and call him friend. He helped me and took a special interest in being a friend to me. RIP Paul, you made a difference in many many people and may God bless your family. There are those individuals you encounter in life's journey that profoundly impact you professionally, or personally. It is extremely rare to know someone that does both; Paul was that one unique individual. One paragraph is not enough space to express how blessed I was to know and collaborate with him. His mentoring, passion and intellect will not soon be forgotten by me. I spoke with Paul a little over a week ago and was able to personally articulate how much he impacted me. Little did I even fathom that a week later he would pass away. Prayers for Sam and the rest of the family who, like me, are grieving this loss.

Dr. Armstrong was a wonderful and kind man. He and my father, Dr. Frank Watts were longtime friends. My Dad was also great friends with Dr. Paul Armstrong Sr. My father told me many times how they both were very fine gentlemen and how much they meant to him.
I got to know Dr. Paul Jr. very well when he became my periodontist many years ago. I had developed gum disease and Dr. Paul performed my surgery. He kindly cautioned me about the importance of flossing regularly. He said after the surgery, "your Dad & I are great friends & this one is on me. If you don't floss & take care of your gums, the next one's on you"! I took that very seriously and flossed every night. I never had to have a follow-up procedure. I also appreciate his generosity to this day !
Sam, I know he loved you dearly ! During my twice a year appointments, he would tell me all about your athletic & academic achievements. He was so proud of you ! I will keep you & your family in my thoughts & prayers. I will miss him greatly !
Sincerely,
Steve Watts

To the family and especially to Sam we send our sincere condolences. I really appreciated all the long talks Paul and I had at the many baseball games.
