Mrs. Myers was my 3rd grade teacher , I move to Nicholasville from Prestonsburg the end of 1992 and when I entered Mrs. Myers class and heard the word “multiplication” I already knew I was behind my peers but she never made me feel that way . I left my previous school barely able to read simple words and addition and subtraction were all I knew of Math . Mrs. Myers never made me feel behind , she let me stay after school each day and she helped me little by little get caught up and by the time I reached fourth grade I was the multiplication mad minute pro lol and reading chapter books . Even as an adult when I would run into her she would mention the porcelain doll and clock I got her as a gift when I was 9 years old. I credit her for my love of reading and my use of sir and mam when speaking to someone with respect. She will be greatly missed and loved by her former students .

She was my Home ECONOMICS teacher in high school. Taught me how to sew & how o put a zipper in easily. I even showed my Mom who was a good seamstress. also watched her teach at Nicholasville Elementary - great teacher. She sure loved kids and especially her Grandchildren. God Bless Her! Gayle Teater

When I see some of these names I am reminded of what I consider to be the older part of our county. A time when we knew or knew about, most families of the county. I consider myself very blessed to be a part of this era. Ray Wilson dug out a pond for us about 45 years ago. Often I think of what he said as I still enjoy this old pond. He said, "This is the first time I've bulit a pond you could fish in off your back porch!" He provided lots of fun and great memories for a lot of my family and friends that we still enjoy! Good memories of some wonderful people and school mates. May God bring peace and comfort to each one of this family.
