Obituary of Nancy Raye Myers

Nancy Raye Myers, 81, widow of Lonnie Wayne Myers, passed away October 25, 2020 in Nicholasville, KY. Mrs. Myers was born June 6, 1939 in Lexington, KY to the late Nancy Evelyn Day Wilson and Ray W. Wilson. Mrs. Myers watched Southland Christian Church broadcast every Sunday. Mrs. Myers was employed by the Jessamine County Board of Education for 43 years as a school teacher, and taught high school, elementary school, and was a substitute teacher. Mrs. Myers’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joy of her life. Mrs. Myers is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Steve) Woolums, and Rebecca (Eli) Smith; her brothers, Bobby Day (Anna) Wilson, and James Harry (Carole) Wilson; grandchildren, CT (Sandra) Smith, Kayla (Jon) Ruggiero, Allison (Jake) Rosenkranz, Sarah Woolums, and Amanda Woolums; great grandchildren, Maddie, Alana, Steven, and Jaxen, Jayce, Dallas, Rage, RaeLynn, Benjamin, her God grandson Marquise Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband of 53 years, and her parents, Mrs. Myers is preceded in death by her step mother, Emogene Wilson; and two grandchildren, Stephanie Woolums, and Stephen Woolums. A visitation will be held Wednesday, October 28 from 4PM -8PM at Clark Legacy Center, Nicholasville, to celebrate the life of Mrs. Myers. Private family graveside service will be Friday, October 30 at 2:30PM at Bluegrass Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Nicholasville KY with Reverend Nathan Day Wilson, nephew of Mrs. Myers conducting the service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
