Obituary of Bernnie L. Irvin

Bernnie L. Irvin, 81, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2024. The son of the late Walter and Margarete Hedges Irvin, Bernnie was born December 25, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky. As a musician, he had a passion for music and spent a great deal of his time fostering that passion. Bernnie enjoyed the outdoors and surrounding himself with plants and gardening, but his love for his grandchildren trumped all things. He was such a kind person who wanted and needed little, but always had a kind smile to share.

Bernnie is survived by his wife, Joan Irvin of Lexington; sons, Brian Irvin of Clarksville and Jason (Michelle) Irvin of Versailles; step-children, Laura Beth (Larry) Cole of North Carolina, Jason (Sandy) Hall of Lexington, and Thomas Stanely Stinnett of Lexington; a brother, Berklin Glen Irvin of Louisville; his grandchildren, Richard, Charles, Thomas, Austin, Devin, Makayla Paige, Cameron, and Graham; step-grandchildren, Cameron, Angelina, Holly, Chase, Nicole, and Michael; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members.

In addition to his parents, Walter and Margarete Hedges Irvin, Bernnie was preceded in death by his sons, Ricky Irvin and Robert “Bobby” Irvin, and a brother, Roger Irvin.

A Celebration of Bernnie’s Life will be held from 5:00pm until 7:30pm, on Wednesday, May 8, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with a Time of Sharing to begin at 7:30pm.
