Obituary of Michael Orion Welk
On April 11th, 2024, Michael Orion Welk passed away in a house fire. He had a heart of gold, and his passion was helping others. He spent his final years dedicated to helping others like himself who suffered from addiction and mental illness. He worked as a peer support specialist for Deaton & Deaton, where he impacted so many people's lives and left a legacy of kindness and compassion for those in need. He was a lifelong military enthusiast and a true patriot. He would spend his free time listening to music while he cruised around and reading anything he could about the Navy Seals and had a collection of military artifacts and memorabilia. Michael loved his routines, and his favorite was doing his perimeter checks; he wanted to keep everyone safe.
Michael is survived by his sister, Rigel Ramsey (Dustin Franklin), of Willisburg, Ky, his nieces and nephews, Beau Ramsey, Ean Franklin, Evan Franklin, Ethan Franklin, Emily Franklin, Elizabeth Ramsey, Codey Ramsey, and Hunter Acker. His uncle, Michael Dean Coard (Janet) and his cousins, Samantha, William and Luke Coard, all of Woodbine, Maryland.
Other than his parents, Michael was preceded in death by his sister, Michele Angel Welk.
There will be a Celebration of Life for Michael at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 5:30-7:30pm
