Obituary of Thomas Junior Robinson

Thomas Junior Robinson, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 20, 2024. The husband of Sandra Lynn Robinson, Tom was born January 31, 1942, in Bloomfield, Kentucky to the late James and Margie Leathers Robinson. A family of sharecroppers, Tom learned to drive at 6 years old and was responsible for fueling up and preparing the crop dusters for the day by the time he was 8. Being responsible for such an important task contributed to his talent as a mechanic. If you had something mechanically wrong, Tom could diagnose and fix it. Dependable even at the young age of 11, with his aunt in labor and his uncle overseas fighting in the war, Tom drove her from Bloomfield to Fort Knox in their 1951 Chevrolet. His favorite childhood pastime was watching wrestling on Saturday nights, something he enjoyed well into adulthood. Tom took a job in the service department as a manager at Pepsi where he worked closely with UK for sporting events and other venues but saw an opportunity for more, so along with his wife, Sandra, Tom bought a Pepsi Distributorship, providing for Anderson County and surrounding areas for 12yrs before he and Sandra decided to purchase Duckers Mobile Home Park, which they owned and managed for 41yrs. Tom was a family man who enjoyed life. He loved barbeques with his family and friends, watching NASCAR, collecting NASCAR memorabilia, camping, traveling, and a good hot meal. Tom would drive to Tennesse for a good and hot cup of coffee and a steak. If you needed a pair of socks, Tom was your man.

In addition to his loving wife of 54yrs, Sandra Lynn Robinson, Tom is survived by his children, Faith Dunaway of Frankfort, Angela Early of Frankfort, Penny (Danny) Dial of Lawrenceburg, Laura Robinson of Frankfort, Thomas P. Robinson of Frankfort, Tommy Robinson of Nonesuch, Nathan (Carrie) Robinson of Nebraska, and Johnathon (Heather) Robinson of Irvine; a sister. Judy (Gus Bittner) Williams of Fisherville; brothers, Pete Richardson of LaRue and Paul (Melissa) Richardson of Mt. Washington; his grandchildren, Brittany Fitts, Patrick Johnson, Christina Shockley, Michael Early, Brandon Terrell, Cody Hughes, Jeremy Hughes, Paris Robinson, Danielle “The Boss” Dial, Brianna Robinson, Mary Robinson, Julie Robinson, Maria Botos, Gina Sidzyik, Caterina Robinson, and Aaron Rogers; and 21 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, James and Margie Leathers Robinson, Tom was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Davis; Obie Richardson; sisters, Lillian Robinson, Ruby Campbell and Janice Richardson; brothers Roy D. Robinson and Ray Richardson; and a grandson, Christopher Shockley.
