Obituary of Warren "Pete" Mitchell

Mr. Warren "Pete" Mitchell Sr., age 88 was born in Georgetown, Kentucky on March 8, 1935 to the late Carl Mitchell Sr. and Sadie Goins and departed this life on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at his residence in the presence of his family.  Warren was in finance for the Kentucky Finance and Administration Cabinet and served as Deputy Director.  He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member and deacon of Buck Run Baptist Church and loved the game of golf.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: Carl Mitchell Jr., James "Jimmy" Mitchell and 1 sister: Annette Leathers.

Warren is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Connie Mullins Mitchell of Frankfort, Ky, 3 sons: Warren Mitchell Jr. of Frankfort, Ky, Brad (Angie) Mitchell of Lawrenceburg, Ky, Mike (Teri) Mitchell of Clearwater, Fl, 1 daughter Susan (Terry) Young of Nicholasville, Ky, 9 grandchildren: Gina Jackson, Angie (Emil) Baltic, Wesley (Elle) Mitchell, Sarah Bradley, Nathan Mitchell, Katie Mitchell, Andrew (Leah) Mitchell, Allison Young, Ben Young, 8 great grandchildren and host of relatives and friends who all mourn his passing.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Clark Legacy Center Versailles Road.  Family will recieve friends after 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Serving as casket bearers will be Glenn Mitchell, Ray Leathers, Terry Leathers, Nathan Mitchell, Ben Young and Andrew Mitchell.  Honorary casket bearers are Stan & Vanessa Betsworth, Tommy & Donna Karsner, Danny & Evelyn Perry, and Todd Roberts

In leau of flowers family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Buck Run Baptist Church 1950 Leestown Rd Frankfort, Ky and/or Bluegrass Care Navigators 643 Teton Trail Frankfort, Ky.
