Obituary of Jane Kathryn Anderson Dean

Jane Kathryn Anderson Dean passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at the age of 77. She was the only child of Vivian Martha Fink Anderson and Hervert Holland Anderson. Growing up in Defoe KY, she attended the Henry County Schools where she met the love of her life Robert (Bobby) Dean when she was in the seventh grade. They married while attending Eastern Kentucky University where she earned her Bachelor of English. Jane went on to earn the Master of Library Science at the University of Kentucky. 

Jane spent her professional life in education. She taught in Shelby County at Northside Elementary and Southside Elementary. The majority of her career was at Second Street School in Frankfort KY as the librarian. She was a faithful member of the Capital City Christian Church in Frankfort. 

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved Bobby Dean, and their son Kevin Dean. 

She is survived by her dear friend and caretaker Sue Crumpler; her granddaughter in her heart, Melissa Richard; her sons in her heart James Kuhn and Mackendy Alcinvil; cousins in Henry and Shelby Counties; and the retired teachers and staff of Second Street School and Frankfort Independent Schools. 

A special thanks to the staff of Pleasant Meadow Assisted Living Center in Frankfort for the compassionate care they gave Jane these last years of her life. 

A Funeral Service will be held 12:00p, Friday, February 2, 2024, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Dr. Steve Pattison officiating. Burial will follow at 3:00p in Bellevue Cemetery, Danville, KY. Allison Mueller, Tommy Barnett, Bobby Hall, Roger and Carolyn Coney, Raymonde Jacques, Danny and Melissa Watson, Kelly Thomas, Wayne Smith, and The Henry County Friends Lunch Group will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation at 10 a.m. with the service starting at 12:00 p.m. at Clark Legacy Center in Frankfort KY.
