Obituary of June Cooper

Vivian “June” Cooper passed on Monday, Jan. 22, 2024, at the age of 88. She was the late widow of Blain Cooper who passed in March of 2015 after 60 years of marriage. She was born in Rowan County, Ky. on Feb. 26, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Fred and Edith Hicks.

She is survived by two children, Jeff (Debbie) Cooper and Regina (Carl) Fish, both of Versailles. She is also survived by five grandchildren, David (Melissa) Thomas, Belinda Adams and Jerahmy Winkfield, Jessica (Josh) Hall, Amy (Shigemi) Iwhahara, Nathan (Stephanie) Cooper; eight great grandchildren, James and Jaylan Washington, Jordan Adams, Addison, and Alivia Cooper, Emma Hall, Corbin Thomas and Miyo Iwhahara; four great, great grandchildren, Raelynn Washington, Ameera Crutchfield, Caylie Yates and Jerrymiah Wilson; and three step great grandchildren, Zia Carver, Buan Smith, Dylan Hartley, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was proceeded in death by two siblings, a sister Violet Johnson and a brother Scottie Hicks, two daughters, Vicki Cooper Thomas and Pamela Cooper, one grandchild Amanda Cooper, and one great great step-grandchild Clara Carver.

She became a born-again Christian on April 23, 1967, and was a member of Lexington United Baptist church.

Visitation will be on Monday, January 29, 2024 from 5:00p until 8:00p, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort. The Funeral Service will be held 11:00a on Tuesday, January 30, 2023, at the funeral home with Bro Wayne Bryant and Bro Johnny Sexton officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Crest Cemetery in Versailles.
