Obituary of Carl Hailey Buckler, Sr

Carl Hailey Buckler, Sr, 73, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024. The husband of Doris Woodroof Buckler, Carl was born August 8, 1950, to the late Sherman and Vertna Davis Buckler in Owingsville, Kentucky. He was a retired Stallion Manager at Gainesway Farm and enjoyed all things horses. In addition to horses, he enjoyed fishing, working in the yard, watching UK Basketball, and just helping people in general. Anything to stay busy. But what he treasured most was his relationship with God and family. Carl attended the services of Lakeshore Church in New Orleans, LA every Sunday remotely and looked forward to the weekly sermons.  

In addition to his loving wife of 35 years, Doris Woodroof Buckler, Carl is survived by their children, Kim (Perry) Caudell of Frankfort, Michelle (Dennis) Pruett of Indiana, and Carl H. (Sarah) Buckler, Jr of Paris; a brother, Tommy Buckler of Richmond; cousin, Wyvonna Purvis of Lexington; grandchildren, Abbey (Dallas) Guidry, Ashleigh Caudell, Connor Buckler, and Hailey Buckler; and his great-grandchildren, Carl Asher Guidry, and one on the way, Samuel Guidry.  

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Vertna Davis Buckler and his siblings, Maggie Sparks, Nancy Halcomb, and Pete Buckler.  

Services will be private with Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort. 

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to Old Friends, 1841 Paynes Depot Rd, Georgetown, KY 40324.
