Obituary of M. Randall Ripley

M. Randall Ripley, 78, passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024. The loving husband of Gail Poynter Ripley, Randall was born February 23, 1945, to the late Letcher and Mildred Burton Ripley in Bluefield, West Virginia. A US Army veteran, Randall was a former employee of General Cable, but his true talent was in restoring and selling antiques with Gail. They even took on and completed the monumental task of restoring their late 1800’s home and the property surrounding it, including barns and outbuildings. Randall was happiest being busy and bringing things back to life with Gail by his side. 

In addition to his wife of more than 54 years, Gail Poynter Ripley of Lawrenceburg, Randall is survived by his children, Shannon Ripley of Lawrenceburg and Mark (Dina Parrott) Ripley of Lexington; a sister, Onnie Riley of Nicholasville; his grandchildren, Dalton (Liz) Ripley and Tanner Kirkpatrick; and his great-grandchildren, Eleanor Ripley and Maeve Ripley.  

A Memorial Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held 2:30pm, Friday, January 19, 2024, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky.
