Obituary of Henrietta Carpenter

Henrietta Carpenter, 75, wife of Robert Carpenter, passed away at Saint Joseph Hospital after a short illness on Monday, January 1, 2024. She was born on August 12, 1948, in Versailles, KY to the late Aliene Raider and Henry Tucker.  

Besides her loving husband Robert of 51 years, those left to cherish her memory include her sons, Christopher Ready, Mike Ready; granddaughter, Ashley Ready; siblings, Allan (Karen) Tucker, Lawrenceburg, Glenda Tucker, Frankfort, Cheryl Tucker, Wellington, Kay Tucker, Clay,  and Susan Tucker, Versailles; her fur kids, Peanut and Midnight; and some aunts, uncles and cousins. She is also fondly remembered as Rara by her numerous nieces and nephews.  

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carpenter is preceded in death by her son, Mark Ready; siblings, Brenda Houp, Rita Reed, and Keith Tucker. 

She grew up helping on her family farm here in Woodford County, always putting her love for family first. Besides her love for her family, she enjoyed country music and Elvis Presley.  

A funeral service will be held Monday, January 8, 2024, at 1pm, at Clark Funeral Home, Versailles, KY officiated by Bobby Cairell. Visitation will start at 11am until the time of the service, followed by graveside at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Nicholasville at 2:30.  

Acting as casket bearers will be Mike Ready, Chris Ready, Todd Whalen, Travis Head, Ryan Head, and David Shea. Her brother and sisters will serve as honorary pallbearers. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Woodford Humane Society.
