Obituary of Steve Matherly

Nicholasville - Steve Matherly, 64, husband of Cynthia Burris Matherly, passed away on December 22, 2023 in Lexington after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease.  He was born in Springfield, Missouri on April 11, 1959, to the late Robert Lee and Bettye Jo Wheeler Matherly. He spent his career in banking and was in wealth management at 5/3 Bank.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Claire (Zach) Chesser, sons, Jesse (Elizabeth) Matherly, Robert (Julie) Matherly, grandchildren, Silas and Iris Matherly, and Sutton Chesser, his sisters, Pamela (Byrl) Hodgson and Sherri (Mike) Compton, and his special uncle, Frank Matherly.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from noon until 2pm at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2pm with Rev. James Stillwell.
