Obituary of Jessie Marie Harding Taylor
Jessie Marie Harding Taylor, 89, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2023. The wife of the late Orman Gene Taylor, Jessie was born October 28, 1934, to the late Harold Russell and Doris Lorene Gardner Harding in Detroit, Michigan. Jessie was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky where she sang in the choir for more than 50 years. She was well known around the city of Frankfort for making and decorating beautiful wedding cakes and gingerbread houses, which were often seen on display. Prior to cake baking and decorating, Jessie worked for both the Franklin County High School Library and the Paul Sawyer Library repairing books, a job she treasured. She also enjoyed working in her flower garden and tending to her orchids.
Jessie is survived by her son, Alan (Carrie) Taylor of Frankfort; son in law, John Erpelding of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Judith Pierce of Bartlette, TN; her grandchildren, Eric (Naudia) Erpelding, Leslie (Tim) Erpelding Cain, Anya Hopper, and Lance (Heather) Taylor; 13 great grandchildren; and 4 great great grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, Orman Taylor and parents, Harold and Doris Gardner Harding, Jessie was preceded in death by her daughters, Kathleen Marie Erpelding and Janet Lynn Walters; a sister, Lorna Evans; and her great grandchildren, Ambrosia Hopper and Conner Cain.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00am, Friday December 29, 2023, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Pastor Marcia Woodyard officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Frankfort, with family serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 9:00am until the time of service at the funeral home on Friday.
