Obituary of Tracy Thornton Culbertson

Tracy Thornton Culbertson passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 in Lexington, Kentucky following his two-year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was surrounded by his wife, Jenné, children, Madelyn and Riley, and his dog Tillie at the time of his passing.

Tracy was born in Fort Worth, Texas on June 16, 1959 to Don Estovan Culbertson and Jane Thornton Culbertson. During his childhood, he and his family moved around all over the country, so Tracy and his siblings John and Christina grew up with state and national parks in their backyard. After working in the restaurant industry for a few years, Tracy moved to Memphis, Tennessee, where he met Jenné Hill, his wife of 33 years. They started their family and settled in Lexington, Kentucky with their two children Madelyn and Riley.

Tracy had a very strong work ethic and eventually purchased a franchise that he owned and operated for over 15 years. He had a great sense of humor, loved to spend time hiking outdoors, and enjoyed playing guitar. Tracy was known by all to be a music enthusiast, but above all loved spending time with his family and cooking meals to enjoy together.

Tracy is survived by his wife, Jenné Culbertson; his children, Madelyn Aguirre (Trey), and Riley Thornton Culbertson; his parents, Don Estovan Culbertson and Jane Thornton Culbertson; his sister, Christina Mason (John Sutherland); and his brother, John Culbertson (Christopher Wilson).
