Obituary of Kenneth Evan Martin

Ken Martin, 85, husband to Susan Martin, of 52 years, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023. He was born on July 5th, 1938 to the late Evan and Goldie Martin.

He grew up in Grant County and attended University of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University where he earned a BA and MA respectively. Ken was a history teacher and boys basketball coach at Owen County high school from 1963-1970. He loved bragging about having the leading scorer in the state. He worked for
Kentucky Farm Bureau Insurance Company as an insurance adjuster from 1971-1998. He was a member of Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. Ken was an avid golfer and played the Frankfort Country Club golf course more than anyone. He loved to be social and took great pride in his pristine yard of no weeds and beautiful flowers.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son,  Kent (Teresa) Martin, of Louisville, grandchildren, Evan and Vivian Martin, his sister, Sue (Mike) Neltner, of Burlington and his brothers, Harold (Vel) Martin, of Cynthiana, and Wilfred Martin, of Burlington.
