Just missing the greatest man I ever knew.
Dad (Jim Jim Spencer) was one of a kind.
His family came first and he would protect us with everything he had!
He was smart and funny (smart-alack and straight forward) but his intentions were always good and true.
Every conversation seemed to be a lesson in something, and I hung on his every word.
Ill never forget, When I turned 16 he bought me a tiny pair of diamond earrings. (it was the only time he ever bought me a present that he had specifically picked out)
But more important then the earrings, he bought one of those record able ring boxes, and when I opened it,it was his voice, and he said, "Always remember, I'm on your side!" I have never felt more loved by anyone in my entire life (2nd only to my mom,Linda Linda Spencer)and even then, there was something special about the way he made me feel loved and protected, something I think only a father can give you. My real father was never around, but I always felt that I hadn't really missed out because "Dad" was happy to take on that role, and he was a better father then anyone could have ever asked for.
My only hope is that he knows how much he meant to me.

A wonderful father and husband. Was a positive influence on those he met. Respected and loved in the neighborhood by all. Condolences to his children Linda and John. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this time of sorrow.

Sending my love and condolences to my brother's family. Linda, John ... ALL the grandchildren and the great-grandchildren!
I didn't get to grow up with my big brother, but I sure wish I could have. We were able to visit each other a couple of times in our lives and, I am happy about that!
In the late 1980's, I was able to take our father, Corbett Spencer, on a trip to Kentucky to visit with Jim, Kay and, Loretta, Jim, Linda and John. I think it was a happy reunion for everyone. It's hard on families when there are states and miles separating us ... but, I'm sure there is another happy reunion in Heaven with all these wonderful people.
RIP, Jim!
I love you!
