Obituary of Wayne Holland

Thomas Wayne Holland, 76, husband of Shirley Woodrum Holland, passed away on April 18, 2023, peacefully at his home in Lawrenceburg, surrounded by his family. Wayne Holland was born in Versailles, Kentucky on June 20, 1946, to the late John Dee and Hazel Parker Holland.  He was a Master Plumber who was a generous man that went above and beyond to help everybody he could with anything they may need. Wayne was the best guy you could meet, a loving husband, father, brother, a great uncle, grandfather, and most importantly the rock for his family. He enjoyed mowing and admiring his work and beautiful yard afterwards, big fan of UK basketball, he loved hummingbirds, and you’d find him playing solitaire in his spare time. He was a hard worker and the salt of the earth to those who loved him.  He was a member of Member of Choateville Christian Church. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Shirley; his son, Brian Wayne (Anita) Holland of Lawrenceburg; two daughters; Karen Evans, and Amanda (Rob) Stewart, both of Lawrenceburg; three sisters Joyce Sims of Lawrenceburg; Patty Giles of Lawrenceburg; and Margie Cooper of Frankfort; 8 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, Wayne was preceded in death by one brother William Holland. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions are appreciated to be sent to his wife, Shirley to help with final expenses.  

 A memorial service will take place at Ninevah Christian Church in Lawrenceburg on Friday, April 28, 2023, beginning at 5:00 pm.
