Obituary of Bobby Ray Partin

Bobby R. “B. R.” Partin, 86, passed away February 20, 2023 at Baptist Health Hospital in Lexington, Ky. He was born on May 1, 1936 in Corbin, Ky., to Lenvil and Edith Partin.  

In 1957, he married the love of his life, Theda Bowman, who preceded him in death in 2015. They were married 57 years.  

He was a member of Rosemont Baptist Church for over 50 years serving as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. He was a good husband, provider, teacher, and father. He and his wife enjoyed traveling cross-county, taking cruises, and taking their grandchildren on trips. He worked in the insurance field for many years, where he received many awards and designations. He took an early retirement in 1996 to spend more time with his family.  

He is survived by three daughters, Dena Terry (Kevin) of Lebanon, Tn,; Janell Murphy (Mike) of Lancaster, Ky.; Amy Miller of Coral Springs, Fl.; ten grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Survivors also include his brother, Herb (Lana) Partin of Corbin, Ky, and his sister-in-law, Rose Terrell (Mickey) of Owensboro, Ky.  

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, February 24th from 4:00-5:00pm at Clark Legacy Center, 601 East Brannon Rd., Nicholasville, Ky.
