Obituary of Betty Jane (Hagan) Dobson

Betty Jane Dobson, 81, went home to the Lord on September 25, 2022.

Betty is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Raymond E. Dobson, children Stephen (Deanna) Dobson of Versailles, KY, Rachel Molina of Naples, FL, Dwayne Dobson of Tampa, FL and grandson Marcos Molina of Naples, FL. Her surviving brothers and sisters include William Robert Hagan of NY, John Hagan (Loretta) of FL, Larry Hagan (Catherine) of KY and Rose Mary Gravell (Edward) of KY.

She was preceded in death by her parents Melford Stephen and Mary Leila Hagan of Glendale, KY and a brother, James Hagan of Bartlesville, OK.

Betty was born Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Hagan January 24, 1941 in Glendale, KY and graduated from Glendale High School where she was a class valedictorian and a cheerleader. She went on to attend the University of Louisville. Betty married Raymond E. Dobson on October 28, 1961. She worked for many years at American Saw & Tool Company in Louisville, KY and later she and her husband founded Network Automotive Parts Warehouse in Clearwater, FL.

Betty was passionate about her family, Catholic faith and tennis. She was an animal lover and enjoyed taking cruises and traveling. One of her favorite places was Dale Hollow Lake, TN. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who always put her family first.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Nicholasville, KY at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, October 8, 2022 with a memorial lunch afterwards. Interment will occur at a later date at St. James Catholic Cemetery in Elizabethtown, KY.

St. Jude's Children's Hospital, your local Right-To-Life Chapter, Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement Farm in Georgetown, KY or the Brooksville, Florida Humane Society.
