Obituary of Irene Thompson

Irene Thompson, 90, widow of Roy Earl Thompson, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2022. She was born in Cave City, Kentucky to the late William Bradley and Iva May House Roundtree on February 14, 1932. Mrs. Thompson was a member of the Salvation Army Church, a life member of the VFW Auxiliary and loved to play bingo.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sue Jarrett, Frankfort, Judy J. Richardson, Frankfort, Larry (Cathy) Thompson, Lawrenceburg, and Ralph Earl Thompson, Lawrenceburg; grandchildren, Toby (Rosie) McRoberts, Tracy (Shannon) Spencer, Carla (Adam) Short, Christopher (Carly) Thompson, Jason Thompson, Shane (Leah) Garton, Crystal (Brian) Hicks, William McDaniels and Daisy Holland; 27 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daugher, Donna J. Holland; her siblings, Aline Kirk, Ahtha Boston, Jenny Lu Ragland, Leola Ragland, Ervin Roundtree, Jesse Roundtree, James Roundtree, William Bradley Roundtree, Harold Ragland, JC Ragland and Everett Ragland; and her 2 grandchildren, Troy Garton and Catina Eberhardt.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Cody Whitaker, Toby McRoberts, Tracy Spencer, Paul Kirk, Chris Thompson, Toby McRoberts, Jr and Dylan Eberhardt. Visitation will be on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of the Bluegrass.
