Obituary of Katherine McGuire Broughton

Katherine McGuire Broughton, 66, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2022. Loving wife of the late Thomas Eugene Broughton, Katherine was born May 21, 1955, to the late Carl and Elizabeth Mathis McGuire in Frankfort, Kentucky. Katherine was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, playing cards and singing karaoke. Her favorite little companions were her dogs, Buddy and Lucy.  

Katherine is survived by her sons, Steve (Lisa) Broughton, Michael (Jennie) Broughton, and Matthew Broughton, all of Frankfort; a sister, Joann (Bruce) Cunningham of Lawrenceburg; brothers, Ray (Charolette) McGuire of Frankfort, Gerald McGuire of Frankfort, and Kenneth McGuire of Tennessee; her grandchildren, Chaz, Bret, Zackary, Micheal Jr, David, Maximus, Ashur, Torran, Amanda, James, Cierra, Rachelle, and Todd; and her great-grandchildren, Jayden, Felix, Andrew, Lucas, Lilly, Logan, and Bentley. 

In addition to her husband, Thomas, and her parents, Carl and Elizabeth, Katherine was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Weick and Betty Sue Brooks, and a brother, Sammy McGuire.  

A Funeral Service will be held 1:00pm, Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Rd, Frankfort, with Pastor Jeremy Warren officiating. A Private Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Steve Broughton, Matthew Broughton, Michael Broughton, Todd Pickett, Chaz Broughton, Bret Broughton, Brian McGuire, and Carl Brooks serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 11:00am until the time of service on Thursday, at the funeral home.
