Obituary of George Eric Oberg

George Eric Oberg , 72, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at St. Joseph Hospital. George was born in LaGrange, IL. He obtained his MBA, and was CFO, and CEO, of several International Corporations; and moved to Lexington, KY when Costain Coal moved their Corporate Offices to Lexington in 1993. After retiring from Costain Coal, he taught Business and Accounting for National College. He also worked for Jackson Hewitt tax service in Versailles for many years. George leaves behind his beloved wife Rosemary Cecilia (Conrad) Oberg, children Erik Oberg (Lucie), Jacqui Oberg, Cecelia Oberg Johnson (Joey), Christy Oberg (Eric), Tyler Oberg, Meaghan Peck (John); and his beloved grandchildren Nicholas Finley, William Finley, Nathan Mouton, Jacob Mouton, Liam Peck, Tristan Peck, Cole Johnson, and Marley Jane Johnson. He is survived by his sister Caryn (Michael) Kunik of Il. He was preceded in death by his parents George Earl and Jennie Mae Oberg, and his sister Beth Christine Ratliff. George loved his family and spent every extra minute with his grandchildren. He loved being their Papa. He was passionate about his horses and dogs, but his true passion was being Papa to his Grandchildren. Private services were held with immediate family per his wishes.
