Obituary of John R. Wilson

John R. Wilson, 81, husband of Patricia Carmichael Wilson, passed away Monday, September 6, 2021. He was born on May 3, 1940 in Carlisle, KY to the late Ida Hazel Woodall and John W. Wilson. He graduated Paris High School in 1958 and was an all-state basketball player. Mr. Wilson was self-employed and worked as a salesman, and is a veteran of the United States Navy. 

Those left to cherish Mr. Wilson’s memory, include his wife, Patricia; sons, Larry (Susan) Wilson, Charleston, SC, and Michael Wilson, Indianapolis, IN; grandsons, Seth Wilson, Evan Wilson, and Cole Wilson; several nieces and nephews.   

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his sisters, Polly Owings, Jean Daniels, Betty Waugh, and Ann Hager; and brothers, James Wilson, and Charles Wilson.; and his beloved dog, Peanut. 

Visitation will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing from 11am-1:45PM with graveside service following at Camp Nelson National Cemetery at 2:30PM. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lexington Humane Society.
