Ira McKeever

Obituary of Ira Everett McKeever

Ira E. McKeever, 93 3/4, passed away peacefully at The Willows at Fritz Farm, Lexington, Kentucky on May 17, 2021.

Services will be held at a later date with family in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Ira was born in Kit Carson, Colorado to Ira and Janet Reuter McKeever on June 27th, 1927. Ira was a hard wroking man who was tough but never asked another to do what he wouldn't do himself! He loved learning and travel answered that calling after graduation from the Colorado School of Mines. He saw more of the world than most of us will ever see. His sense of humor was unmatched and his love for animals was unending. He found joy in everday things even when the frailties of his body threatened to take away his activities. His faith carried him, and gave him a purpose through ministry to others.

Ira is survived by his four children; Christine McKeever (Thomas) Miller, in Kentucky, Scott Ira (Anna) McKeever in Colorado, Bonita Lou Smith, in Texas, and Walter Arnold (Gael) McKeever in Texas. He had 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Kay McKeever.

He was an example and inspiration to all who knew him and he will be forever missed by all.
