Obituary of Viola M. Wasson Young

Viola M. Wasson Young, 90, widow of John D. "Sonny" Young, Jr., passed away on Saturday January 2, 2021. She was born on February 3, 1930 to the late Henry and Mae Belle Brady Wasson in Lexington, Kentucky. Mrs. Young worked for various department stores and loved her dogs and cardinals. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, J. Mike (Cerina) Young, Sr., Wilmore; grandchildren, J. Mike Young, Jr., Josh (Amanda) Young, Jason (Angela) Young and Justin (Rebecca) Young; and her great grandchildren, Zane, Sadie, Beau, Autumn, Elizabeth Young and Brooke Kidd.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Debbie Young; sister, Agnes; and her brother, James "Sonny" Wasson. 

Graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Blue Grass Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
