Obituary of Mary Lou Blair

Mary Lou Blair of Lexington KY, age 94 passed away peacefully on December 22, 2020 surrounded by her children. Born December 14, 1926 to Gerard P Fitzsimmons and Lillian Loretta Fitzsimmons. Mary Lou attended Munhall high school in Pittsburgh PA and graduated from the University of Pittsburgh, with a degree in education. Mary Lou taught Spanish and History at Midland High School, in Pittsburgh prior to marrying Harry J Blair Jr.. After marriage she and Harry created Park Industries, Inc. a manufacturing company where Mary Lou was Vice President. Together they produce 9 surviving children, Mary Lou Herlugson (Dr. Christopher) Cheyanne WY , Harry J Blair III (Nancy) Coronado CA, Adrienne Sword (Harvey) Lexington KY, Victoria Phillips (John) Davenport FL, Elizabeth Vuono (Randy Dickerson), Pittsburgh PA , Loretta Jenks, Wilmington NC, Gerard P Blair (Annette), Pittsburgh PA, Brian J Blair (Janiece) Houston TX, Christine Logue (Brian) Sellersburg, IN. Also 29 Grandchildren and 41 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her Harry J Blair Jr.

Mary Lou worked at Standard Property as an accountant until she retired. After retiring Mary Lou moved from Mt. Lebanon PA to Lexington KY. Mary Lou was an active member of Pax Christi Catholic Church where she was an original member of the Parish Council. Mary Lou also volunteered at Birth Right and Hospice of the Blue Grass. In her 70’s and 80’s Mary Lou worked at Beaumont Middle School in the Cafeteria retiring at age 88.

Mary Lou loved her faith, her home and mostly her family.
