Obituary of Eugene Edmund Shuey

<b>Lexington, KY</b> Eugene "Gene" Shuey, 87, died June 1, 2015. He is survived by his wife Joan (Phelan) Shuey; daughters Connie (Edwin) Struss and Carol (Tim) Rohde; sons Steven (Denise) Shuey, Gary (Beth) Shuey and Mark Shuey; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. He is precede in death by his parents Earl W. and Emma (Barhorst) Shuey; son Thomas (Pat) Shuey; 3 sisters; 1 brother; grandson Matthew Shuey and great grandson Hudson Shuey. Gene was a member of Pax Christi and was part owner of Fayette Tool and Manufacturing Corporation. He proudly served The United States Navy in the Pacific Theater of Operation during WWII. Gene loved to travel in his younger years, but his best days were spent cooking out with his family, where he made sure that everyone was fed before he ate. He will be missed by all who knew him. <b>Funeral Information</b> There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends, Thursday, June 4, 2015 from 5-7 PM, immediately followed by a Celebration of Life service with Military Honors. A private burial will take place at Camp Nelson at a later date.
