Obituary of Ruth Lyon Fischer Sights

<b>Online Obituaries for Lexington, Frankfort, and Versailles KY</b> Lexington - Ruth Lyon Fischer Sights, 98, beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed from this life on July 3rd, 2014. She was born on October 15, 1915 in Crockett, KY. Ruth was one of eight children to the late Lura Barker and John Ballard Lyon. She was a member of Southland Christian Church and served as Secretary at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association before retiring at the age of 52. She is survived by a daughter, Marilyn Fischer Beckwith, grandchildren, Ann Lyon Beebe, John B. Fischer, Andrew Fischer and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Sights, son, William J. Fischer, granddaughter, Rebecca Allen Beckwith and seven brothers and sisters. Following cremation, internment will be held at The Lexington Cemetery on Wednesday July 9th 2014 at 3:00pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass or the American Diabetes Association.
