Obituary of LeeAnn Larsh Turpin

<b>Obituary</b> LeeAnn Larsh Turpin, 65, of Lexington, Kentucky, died Saturday, March 17, 2012 of complications of Multiple System Atrophy. She was born in Richmond, Indiana in 1947 to the late Harvey Cecil Larsh and the late Dorothy Mae Strohmier Larsh. LeeAnn married Michael Coleman Turpin in 1995. LeeAnn graduated from Richmond Senior High School in 1965 and attended Porter Business College in Indianapolis. She began her secretarial career at Avco Corporation in 1966 and worked there until 1970. She then worked for Richmond Water Works Corporation as secretary to the manager. In 1978 she was promoted to office supervisor. In 1980, she was again promoted to budget director at American Water Works Company, the parent company of Richmond Water Works. In 1982 she was promoted to Customer Service Superintendent at the Peoria Water Company in Illinois. After spending 2 years in Peoria, LeeAnn decided to return to Richmond and she and a friend opened The Movie Company, a videotape rental store. They closed the store in 1986 and LeeAnn returned to the water industry, moving to Lexington and becoming the executive secretary to the manager of Kentucky-American Water Company. She retired from the water company in 2002 after 27 years in the water industry. In 2000, LeeAnn was reunited with the daughter she gave up for adoption in 1968, and met her granddaughter who was born in 1989. This was one of the happiest events in her life. Left to mourn her are husband, Mike Turpin of Lexington Kentucky; biological daughter, Shonda McKnight, of Hilliard, Ohio; biological granddaughter, Rachel Sunderland of Columbus, OH; stepdaughter, Andrea (Geoff) McPherson of Gallatin, Tennessee; two step grandsons, Aaron and Ryan Calbert of Gallatin, Tennessee; two brothers, Larry Michael (Linda) Larsh and Jack Edward Larsh, both of Richmond, Indiana; 3 nephews; 4 nieces; 10 great nieces; 2 great nephews; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. In addition to her parents, LeeAnn was preceded in death by her brother, James Richard Larsh; and a great nephew, Jordan Michael Larsh. <b>Funeral Information</b> A Gathering of Family and Friends to celebrate LeeAnn's life will be 1-4 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center.
