Obituary of Edward Leo Ginter

<b>Versailles, KY</b> Edward Leo Ginter., husband of Earleen Sayre Ginter, went home to be with his Lord on May 18, 2015. Leo was born in Woodford County to Jessie B. (Clark) and William Luther Ginter on August 11, 1936. Leo grew to manhood in Millville and graduated from Versailles High School in 1955. He was in the Navy in 1956-1957 and while there pitched for several Navy baseball teams. Leo retired from Texas Instruments after 35 years. He had the privilege of working with and supervising some wonderful people there. He was a member of the Midway United Methodist Church where he was the caretaker of the grounds for many years. He loved children and they loved him. He worked with Cub Scouts, youth groups, and junior achievement groups. He drove the tractor for hayrides and enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels. He had 4 adoptive kids through compassion International and many children for whom he provided surgery through Smile Train. He especially enjoyed surprising perfectly random children with a gift a day or two before Christmas. Besides his wife of 57 years, he is survived by his children Edward Leo (Lora) Ginter, Jr., Versailles; Michael Ray (Cathy) Ginter, Versailles; Jill Annette (Michael) Hartley, Versailles; his grandchildren Randy (Sarah) Ginter, New Jersey; Michelle Ginter; Christen (Alex) Richardson, Ohio; his great grandchildren Sydney Ginter; Josslyn Ginter; his brothers Robert (Betty) Ginter, Versailles; John Wayne (Beverly) Ginter, Mercer Co; Barry Ginter, Woodford County; his sisters Betty Jo Ginter, Versailles; and Joyce Hockensmith, Lexington. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Pam Corn and two brothers Gragg and Darrell. <b>Funeral Information</b> Funeral services will be 11am Friday, May 22, 2015 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road with Reverend Judy Stallons officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Serving as casketbearers will be Ernie Lee Sayre, Harold Fuson, Hal Roberts, Mike Thomas, Larry Botts, Michael Hartley, Mark Stallons, and Alex Richardson. Honorary casketbearers are J.L. Soyars, David LaFoe, Raymond Hippe, Bob Ginter, Gene Birch, and Donald Carter. Visitation will be Thursday, May 21, 2015 from 5-8pm and Friday May 22 from 9:30am until start of service at the funeral home.
