Obituary of Elsie H. Wainscott

<b>Obituary</b> Elsie H. Wainscott, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2009. She was born July 4th 1920 in Lawrence County to the late Charles and Elizabeth Skaggs Hunter. She is survived by a nephew, Charles (Jan) Hunter, a great nephew, Chip Hunter and great niece, Beth Hunter, all of Suwanee, Georgia. She was preceded in death by 1 brother, Charles E. Hunter, who lost his life in WWII, the Battle of the Bulge. Elsie graduated from Floyd Co. High School. The independent streak she inherited from her mother, led her to seek her fortune elsewhere. This resulted in nurses training at Johns Hopkins University and employment in New York state area. Family roots pulled Elsie back to Kentucky, and echoing her mother's restaurant work, she began a second career as a waitress at many iconic Lexington establishments including the Phoenix Hotel, the Emery Hotel, Rogers Restaurant and Two Keys Tavern. Her later years were filled with her love of cross word puzzles, the dice game, Yahtzee, and her love of animals. Her favorite bible verse is as follows, " He will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more", Revelation 21:4. <b>Funeral Information</b> A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 19th, at 2:00 pm, at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing. www.clarklegacycenter.com
