Obituary of Josephine M. Walker

<b>Obituary</b> Josephine Walker, widow of Frank H. Walker and longtime resident on Simcoe Court in Lexington, Kentucky, died on September 22, 2012 at the Hospice Care Center after many months of declining health. Born in Irvine, Kentucky to the late Simon and Lorena Muncy, she and her husband, Frank, became residents of Lexington in 1950. Josephine taught piano and actively promoted the careers of young classical musicians. She served as president of the Federated Music Clubs of Kentucky and also served a term as treasurer. She established a competition program at Eastern Kentucky University with scholarship awards for young musicians. Josephine also volunteered with God's Pantry at Central Christian Church where she was a member. Mrs. Walker is survived by her two sons, Charles and his wife Beverly, and Robert Walker and his wife Sallie. She is also survived by a granddaughter, Kimberly Anne Walker of Durham, North Carolina, her husband Paul J. Banta, and their two sons, Nicholas and Evan Banta. <b>Funeral Information</b> Memorial Service will be 11 am, Tuesday, October 23 at Central Christian Church in Lexington, Kentucky. The service will be held in the Music Room on the second floor of the church. A brief visitation will precede the service.
