We had no idea Brother Bob had been ill. We only learned of his passing by an entry on Facebook so were not sure if it was true until I googled his name. He taught and inspired us so very much at every Midwest Christian Ashram he has come to over the many years. We attribute most of our spiritual growth in our adult lives to God speaking through Bob at the Ashram and always felt the touch of God during the healing services he lead. We were so blessed and enlighted by his book on spiritual warfare. I know the underground church in China will also be very saddened by his passing but will also rejoice in knowing he is "home". Our love and prayers to all of you and thank you for sharing him with us. I am also thankful for the tapes and cd's I have of his teachings. Marilyn, it was such a blessing to have you in our Ashram prayer group. Hope we will get to see you again in the future.

As a history major at Asbury, I was blessed to have Dr. Neff for several classes. Like many of his students, I enjoyed his teaching but it was the spiritual impartation that marked me the most. I honor Dr. Neff and the legacy that he has left, and my prayers are with his family.

Thank you Mrs. Neff, Shelley and family for sharing Dr. Neff with two generations of Noah's. It was a blessing in itself for me to know Dr. Neff and his love for his Lord.. Then Joel came to Asbury and grew to love Dr. Neff as well. Jennette and I are especially grateful for Dr. Neff's spiritual guidance and impact on Joel. Dr. Neff's love for and service to the Lord will continue to bear fruit and multiply in countless lives like Joel's because of his faithfulness. Our prayers are with you.

Dear Ones,
I have just gotten word of Dr. Neffs pilgrimage having come to a glorious end. I respected his love for people, his love for the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. In many ways he was a man before his time in things of the Spirit, especially in the Wilmore Context. I would have loved to see his face when he met the master face to face. Know you the family are in our prayers as we know the sting of death but as well, we know the sweet presence of the Spirit for these times.

My deepest sympathies tp you, Mrs. Neff, Debbie and family. As a history major, I always enjoyed Dr. Neff's classes. He loved his work and his enthusiasm for history was infectuous. I loved how he taught thru the lens of a distinct Christian worldview. He pursued excellence and expected the same from his students. What a rich legacy his well-lived life leaves. I am grateful to have sat under his teaching and influence in the classroom. May the peace of Christ comfort you all in this hour.

Marilyn, Rob Family- I was so sorry to hear of Dr. Neff's passing. I can see by the many other postings that he had a huge impact on his students and the Asbury community. He was a deeply spiritual man who enriched the lives of many people. I also remember him as my neighbor in Wilmore during the 70s. I can still see him studying in his office as Rob and I pretended we were Indiana vs. Kentucky playing basketball on the driveway.

As a freshman at Grove City College I had Dr Neff for US History. All who had him as a professor know how much he expected of each which in turn made us work harder and dig deeper. I then became his student assistant for the next three years and took him for all his course offerings. Simply put he was the finest professor I ever had and of course a truly godly man. He unlocked many good things in me and helped me gain academic confidence. He was a difference maker in my life and for that alone I will always be grateful. It was special to me when Dr and Mrs Neff came back to Grove City College in the fall of 2003 for my inauguration as the 8th President of Grove City College.
His influence and memory will abide with me for the rest of my life. Well done Dr Neff you were a good and faithful servant. I thank God that all who knew you and studied under you had the benefit of your counsel and the pleasure of your company.

Dr. Neff made a huge impression on my life in multiple ways. I thoroughly enjoyed taking his history courses and hearing his passion for history come out through his lectures, but it was always the prayer time before the lecture began that was so appreciated. I also spent much time in Bible Study and prayer with him. His legacy is the thousands of lives he touched. Thank you Dr. Neff for being the man that you were. You made a difference in my life.

As a professor at Asbury, Dr. Neff's intellect, scholarship, Christian character and biblical convictions shined through every lecture. His genuine concern for his students was obvious. His prayers, in class and in chapel, were always inspiring and uplifting, as they reflected his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The student prayer meetings in his home were mini-revivals! In these troubled days that we find ourselves in, I still often find myself wondering what Dr. Neff would say about this issue or that. God used him to shape the hearts and lives of many other students, as he did mine.

It is with great sadness that I heard of Bob's death. Wonderful memories flood me as I reflect back on our time as neighbors and Bob and the history department with my Dad. I am grateful for the legacy of faith that Dr. Neff has left for all those he touched. I knew you prayed for us as the Colonel class long after we were gone from Asbury, and that meant a lot to me. His passion for Jesus is a memory I will always treasure. May the love of our Lord sustain you, and may the assurance of the resurrection lift you up.

Clarity and passion exemplified by Dr. Neff and hospitality by him and Marilyn enhanced our student lives at Asbury. To see Spirit-filled living in action at home not just at the lectern was a great example. I learned more Bible in his Western Civ classes than most Bible classes. The services of worship and fellowship in the Neff home were so solid and joyful the fond memories of them will never be forgotten. Blessed be the Name of the Lord, our comfort and strength..

Dear Mrs. Neff and family,
There is no way to measure the influence of Dr. Neff's heart and life on mine and so many others. I began to see history as the movement of the Holy Spirit in the classes he taught me. I still have the books and notes that opened up the horror of Communism to me and the sole hope for any political system found only in Christ. Dr. Neff was a giant of a man but the grandeur of his life was based in a undaunted love for Jesus that was palpable and so beautifully real. I never was near him when he didn't point me to Jesus in some way. I will always be grateful for the abandonment to Christ that he showed so strongly and so sweetly. My love to you Miss Marilyn. Your love for your wonderful husband was and continues to be a beautiful model of Christian marriage and ministry. I am carrying you and the extended family in my heart.
Love in our resurrected Lord,
Bill

To all the extended Neff family: My deepest condolences on the loss of Dr. Neff. Since I was a history major, I took quite a few classes under him, and he always challenged me to view the world in a different way. I have often thought of him with fondness. But, even in class, it was always evident that his love for the Lord was much more important to him than his love for history. May you be comforted by the certainty of your reunion with him.
