Obituary of Donald W Smitson

<b>Nicholasville, KY</b> Donald W. Smitson, 71, husband of Katherine H. Smitson died Sunday, October 27, 2013. He was born August 1, 1942 in Lexington, Kentucky to Woodrow Wilson and Beatrice White Smitson. He was a retired farmer, postal carrier and research assistant and a charter member of Southland Christian Church. Other survivors include two sons, Edmund Clay (Marlene) Smitson, Brian Wilson Smitson; one daughter, Susan Smitson (Stan) Wright; three sisters, Billye Jean (Richard) Bahus, Charlene Smitson Brutto, Brenda Francis Smitson; grandchildren, Hallie Carlisle Wright, Shelby Anne Wright, Samuel Morgan Smitson, Anna Katherine Smitson and Cameron Smitson and several nieces and nephews. Besides being a Charter member of Southland Christian Church, he was a member of Masonic Lodge, Jessamine County, Beef Cattle Association, 3 year Director of Appaloosa Horse Club. He received a special achievement award in recognition of notable performance for the US Postal Service, Honorary State Farmer, Jessamine County Future Farmers of America. Donald also loved fishing and hunting. <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation will be held from 11am-1pm, Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Clark Legacy Center, Brannon Crossing, with a funeral service to follow at 1pm. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, <b>Nicholasville, KY</b>. Rev. Garrett Stephens will be conducting the service. Casketbearers will be Stan Wright, Randy Cox, Franklin Loy, Robert Waits, Carl Waits and Marlon Waits. Honorary casketbearers will be the COD Sunday school class of Southland Christian Church.
