Obituary of Norma Bryant Downey

<b>Versailles</b> Norma Bryant Downey, 85, widow of Harry Downey Jr., died Saturday, September 27, 2014. She was born in Henry County on October 15, 1928 to the late William Green and Willie Leitch Bryant. Ms. Downey was owner and operator of Town Country Beauty Salon and a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She was a member of the Woodford County Woman's Club where she received the Rookie of the Year in 1998. She was also voted Woman of the Year in 2001, received the Meritorious Award in 2006 and was presented in 2013 with The Lifetime Achievement Award. Ms. Downey is President and longtime volunteer of the Woodford Hospital Auxiliary and the Food Pantry. Survivors are her daughter, Beverly L. Mullins, of <b>Versailles</b>; her sons, Kenton G. (Sandy) Downey and Tim B. Downey, both of <b>Versailles</b>; her shared daughter, Robin Joseph Richie; her grandchildren, William and Meredith Downey, Beau Martin, Danielle M. (Brandon) Raisor, and Joshua B. Downey; her great grandchildren, Jace, Jaxon and Kolby Downey, Branson Allcock, Annabelle, Nash and Jacob Eli Raisor. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Glenna Duvall, Patsy Dees, and Linda Stivers, and her brother, Larry L. Bryant. <b>Funeral Information</b> Service will be held 1:00PM, Thursday, October 2 at St. John's Episcopal Church in <b>Versailles</b> with Fr. Phillip Linder officiating. Burial will follow in <b>Versailles</b> Cemetery. Casketbearers will be Orie Mullen, Joe Routt, Bill Barrows, Brian Nesselrode, Steve Watts, Lindsey Rice and Missy Rogers. Honorary casketbearers will be Kent Little, Dr. William Childers, Dorsey Clark, Joan Pat Joseph, Alice Sparks, Chip Mullins, Mary Jane Sanderson, Tony Wilhoit, Eileen Kelty, Billy Routt, Joe Barrows, Tommy Beasley, Dr. William Graul, Jason McDannold and Carol O'Reel. Visitation will be held 4-8PM Wednesday, October 1, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill.
