Obituary of Harriet Slone Johnson

<b>Lexington, KY</b> Harriet Jane Slone Johnson, age 95, originally from Mousie, KY, and longtime resident of <b>Lexington, KY</b>, widow of Paul Johnson, beloved teacher, treasured friend and true lover of life, died on March 23, 2015. She leaves a legacy of generations of students who came to embrace the joy of learning thanks to her years of dedicated service to education. Her teaching career began in the one-room mountain schools of Eastern Kentucky and spanned all levels, including an Assistant Professorship at the University of Kentucky. She is survived by her children John Mitchell Johnson (Lisa), Cheryl Ann Mickey (Steve) and their respective families. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son Paul Brett Johnson (Tony Huston). The family gratefully acknowledges The Lafayette and Lexington Country Place for the support, care and friendship shared with Mother these past 15 years. <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation will be held at Hindman Funeral Services, Hindman, KY on Sunday, March 29 at noon with a memorial service at 2:00 PM.
