Obituary of David Gene "Moe" Marcus

<b>Obituary</b> David Gene "Moe" Marcus, 63, went to be with his Lord on July 27, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. He was the son of the late James Paul and Thelma Bea Stinnett Marcus, of Lexington, Kentucky and brother to the late James Eldon Marcus, also of Lexington, Kentucky. Moe's life was filled with a passion for the University of Kentucky Wildcats. He attended thousands of games throughout his lifetime and was considered by most to be a superfan. Moe also enjoyed other local sports, and could be found cheering on everyone from the Lexington Legends to the Cincinnati Reds. He was also an umpire and referee for numerous events in the area. Moe was a member of the Committee of 101. He served his country in the United States Navy. Moe attended the Lafayette Church of the Nazarene with his family. Survivors include his son, David Anthony "Tony" Marcus, of Richmond; daughter, Stephanie M. Marcus Keith, of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Kailey Keith and Dacoda Keith; and two sisters, Deborah Marcus Lewis, of Nicholasville, and Karen Ann Marcus Warren, of Lexington. He is also survived by his nephew, Clinton Wayne Lewis, of Lexington; his niece, Lindsey Ann Warren, of Lexington; two great nephews, Devin C. Warren and Aiden Warren; and great niece, Kaydee B. Warren. Dad, you were loved by all of us . . . we will miss you. <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Monday, August 1, 2011 at Clark Legacy Center, followed by a Funeral Service at 7 pm. Burial will be 11 am, Tuesday, August 2, 2011 at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville, Kentucky, with the processional leaving Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing at 10:15 am.
