Obituary of Vernon Edward Spencer

<b>Lexington, Kentucky</b> Vernon Spencer of <b>Lexington, Kentucky</b> passed away on April 7, 2014. He was born and raised in Beattyville, Kentucky, he was the son of Ornia and Lucille Spencer. Vernon served as a Lexington Police Officer beginning in 1968. After leaving the LPD he served as Chief of Police in his hometown of Beattyville, Kentucky. He ended his law enforcement career as a Captain of the mounted police unit at the Kentucky Horse Park. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Deanna; his daughter, Jeanena; his brother, Farley (Mary) Spencer; his sisters, Shirley Edgely, Margie (George) Routt and Elma (Frank) Abner; and several nephews and a niece. <b>Funeral Information</b> No public services will be held.
