Obituary of Woodford Roark

<b>Obituary</b> Woodford Roark, 90, passed away on Wednesday, June 26th in Frankfort, KY. He was born on April 24, 1923 in Woodford County, KY to the late John and Mittie Wombles Roark. He was the husband of the late Catherine Hellard Roark. Mr. Roark worked as a carpenter and served in the United States Army. He fought in World War II where he was awarded the Victory Medal for his service. Mr. Roark is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Jim) Turpin of Frankfort, Helen Turpin of Frankfort, Shirley Roark of Clay City, Bobbie Butler of Lawrenceburg; his two sons, Ken (Lisa) Roark of Wilder, KY and Woodford (Lindsey) Roark of Versailles; his brother, Anderson Roark of Lexington; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bill Roark, Roscoe Roark, Lawrence Roark, Herman Roark, Henry Roark, and Bob Roark, as well as two sisters, Ellen Wade and Stella Roark. <b>Funeral Information</b> Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, June 28, 2013 at Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road with Brother Gilbert R. Wooldridge officiating. Visitation will be held 10:00 AM until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow after the funeral at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Pall Bearers for Mr. Roark are Floyd Roark, Herman Roark, Kievahn Johnson, Wesley McKinney, and Shane Neldlinger. Honary Pall Bearers are Hugh Locke and the McDonald's Coffee Group.
