Obituary of Charles Franklin "Shorty" Chisholm

<b>Online Obituaries for Frankfort, KY</b> Frankfort- Charles Franklin "Shorty" Chisholm, 75, of Frankfort, Kentucky passed the barrier of time on Saturday, April 4th to join the Savior he served faithfully. Following a year long battle with lung cancer, Shorty finished his race at home peacefully and surrounded by loved ones. Shorty was born in Henry County on July 20, 1039, the youngest of nine children born to Bernard Chisholm and Leota Giles Chisholm. Following High School he served the Commonwealth of Kentucky for over 41 years in the Department of Highways, Transportation, Information Systems, and Physical Plant. He had a kind and gentle sprit seasoned with humorous dry wit. In 1968, he married his beloved Shirley, the love of his life, together for the next 46 years they nurtured their blended family and experienced the changing scenes of life, cherishing each other in joyful marriage and blessed by the Lord. In 1976, Shorty made a life altering decision by acknowledging his need for Jesus Christ beginning a personal relationship with his Savior which would become the truth on which he guided his family and made life changes. He was blessed to have a peaceful heart which allowed him to find joy and satisfaction in simple pleasures such as spending time with loved ones, gardening, canning, golf, working crossword puzzles, and praising the Lord. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, and sisters. He will be forever loved and missed by his devoted wife Shirley Bohannon Chisholm; his loving children Tim (Rhonda) Chisholm, Troy Chisholm, Trudy (Kevin) Waldrop, Whitney Bryant, Scott (Kay) Quire, Suzanne Quire (Ron) Howe; treasured grandchildren Ryan Quire, Luke Quire, Seth Weber, Ashley Bryant, Noah Bryant, Courtney Waldrop, Veronica Chisholm; and three precious great grandchildren. Shorty came to the time for which he lived, not the end, but the beginning. Family Friends and others whose lives Shorty touched are invited to join us as we commemorate his life at the Forks of Elkhorn Baptist Church. <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation will be 3:00pm- 8:00pm for friends and Wednesday from 12:00pm- 1:00pm. His commemoration service will be Wednesday at 1:00pm.
