Obituary of Edward L Overfield

<b>Frankfort, KY</b> Edward Lee Overfield, 94, died Tuesday, October 16, 2013 at his home in <b>Frankfort, KY</b>. He was born on January 5, 1919 to the late Charles Henry Overfield and Mary Ella Kirkwood Overfield in Henderson, KY. Mr. Overfield was an Office Manager for Western Union, where he retired after 35 years of employment. He served his country as a Sargent in World War II with the US Army Signal Corp, 178th Signal Repair Company. Mr. Overfield was also a Kentucky Colonel and a member of Versailles United Methodist Church. Mr. Overfield was survived by his daughter, Edwinna (Michael) Harrod of Frankfort; his sister, Mary Alice Overfield of Henderson; his grandson, Cory Harrod; his step-granddaughter, Raven Harrod; and his great-grandson, Austin Harrod; and his step-great grandchildren, Brooklynn and Bennett Coley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanita Grider Overfield; his sisters, Annie Overfield, Pearl Garrett, and Daisy Foss; and his brother, James Overfield. <b>Funeral Information</b> Services for Mr. Overfield will be held on Friday, October 18 at 1:00PM, Clark Legacy Center, Versailles Road with Rev. Tim Thompson officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
