Obituary of William "Bill" Stilwell III

<b>Lexington</b> <b>Lexington</b>-William E. Stilwell, III, Commander, USN-R, Ph.D., "Bill", "Sport Grandpa", 77, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday April 19th, 2014. He was born in Cincinnati, OH the son of Frances M. Hunt and William E. Stilwell, JR. Retired professor from the University of Kentucky after 37 years of service teaching in the College of Education. Survived by his wife of 44+ years Doris N. Stilwell, daughter Belen S. Angel married to Nicholas Angel, son William E. Stilwell, IV "Wes", grandchildren William Claire Angel and Brooke William E. Stilwell, V "Earle", sisters Mary Frances Stilwell, Corvallis, OR., and Katherine S. Kern, Liberty Township, OH. plus many relatives and friends. As many can attest, soccer was Bill's passion. He was a mentor, coach, manager, referee and "Super Fan" for 36 years. In 2008 the State Department of Education created the Stilwell Award given annually "For Personal Dedication Outstanding Service in Education Technology To the Teachers Children of the Commonwealth". <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation and a Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday April 24th at Clark Legacy Center located at 601 E Brannon Rd, Nicholasville, KY. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm with the Celebration of Life service to follow. Burial will take place at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH at a later date.
