Obituary of Dr. Vernon Franklin Hart

<b>Obituary</b> Vernon Franklin Hart MD, 78, of Lexington, KY, died Wednesday, January 18, 2012 in Fort Myers, Florida, following a lengthy illness. He was born December 26, 1933 in Corbin, Kentucky to the late Lee Ora and Rosa Ellen Hart. He graduated from Union College and the University of Louisville School of Medicine, class of 1962. Dr. Hart is survived by his wife of 59 years, Peggy and their three children, Stewart (Melissa), Vicki Garmon (Terry), and Jeff (Robyn); three grandchildren; Landyn Garmon, Aubry Garmon and Liberty Hart; his brothers, Homer Hart, Mickey Hart; and sisters, Mary Elizabeth Rominger and Ida Mae Hart. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Steve Cox, Walter Hart, Orville Hart, Paul Hart, Arlis Hart, Grover Hart and Willard Hart. Dr. Hart was a family physician in Lexington, Kentucky for 40 years; where he loved and was loved by his dear patients. He was a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He bravely served in the Vietnam War as Captain and commanding officer of Company C 15th Medical Battalion for the 1st Air Cavalry Division, U.S. Army. He was awarded two Bronze Stars for Valor. <b>Funeral Information</b> A Celebration of Life Service will be 3:00 PM (EST), Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center.
