Obituary of Oneta Fay Wells McGaughey

<b>Obituary</b> Oneta McGaughey passed away on November 21, 2012 at the age of 82. Born on October 25, 1930, she was one of eleven children of the late Erastus and Bessie Wells. Oneta was retired from JC Penney. She was an avid UK basketball fan and loved her flowers and gardens. Oneta was a homemaker and loved to cook, especially her famous banana pudding. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought such joy to her life. She was proud to share her birthday with her grandson, Nolan. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Carl Eugene McGaughey; brothers Clinton, Clifton, Curtis and Orbrey; and sisters Velma, Ruby, Sally and Dorothy. Survivors include her children, Carla Arnold (Ben Schrader) of Frankfort; Stephen (Becke) McGaughey of Frankfort; Donna (David) Wade of Highland, Utah; Pam (William) Smith of Richmond; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister Gertie and one brother Cletus. Dr. John Opsata and Rev. Donald Wells are officiating the service. Casketbearers will be her grandchildren, Tiphanie (Rick) Taylor; Stephanie McGaughey (Andrew Bowker); Sarah Chatley; Brad McGaughey; Nolan McGaughey; Cara Wade; Nick Smith and Andrew Smith. Honorary casketbearers are her great grandchildren, Tre, Ty, and Coen Taylor. <b>Funeral Information</b> Funeral service is 1:00 pm, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at Clark Legacy Center, 3000 Versailles Road, Frankfort, Kentucky. Visitation is 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
