Obituary of James Paulus

<b>Frankfort, Kentucky</b> Celebration of life services for James "Jim" D. Paulus, 54, of Frankfort KY, will be held at Capital City Christian Church, Frankfort on Tuesday August 26th at 7:00 p.m. Officiating at the service will be Dr. Stephen "Doc" Pattison. Family and friends will be received Tuesday 5-7:00p.m. Jim went Home to be with Jesus early Sunday morning at his residence, August 24th after an extended illness. Jim leaves his beloved wife of 19 years, Debbie Honaker Paulus; his mother, Barbara Brigner of Sarasota FL; a brother, Robert Paulus of Frankfort, niece and nephews, his special life-long friend, Michael Winans; his former wife's children, whom he loved very much: Cassandra (Craig) Pollett, Joseph May, and granddaughter, Jamie Pollett- all of St. Petersburg, FL. Jim was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Paulus and his Step-Father, Ty Brigner. Jim was born in Akron, OH but, considered Kentucky his home. He had worked maintenance at the Kentucky State Police Post #12 until his illness caused him to be homebound. Jim's strength and caring heart were evident in the help he gave to others. A member of Capital City Christian Church, Jim had been active in his care group there as well as participated in the Christmas in Mayberry Play. An active fisherman and avid NASCAR fan; Jim will be remembered for his strong belief and faith in Jesus Christ, his love and protection for his wife, Debbie, as well as his perseverance through a difficult battle with cancer.
