I didn't speak much with Mae in later years but we spent childhood times at an aunt's farm house in Taylorsville, Ky in the 50's.

May came to Atwood Federal Prison for Women faithfully every Sunday night and ministered to the ladies there. She was one of the most intelligent and sweetest women I have ever met. The impact she had on the lives of those incarcerated there is felt long after our release. She was a wonderful teacher, and would always offer up a special prayer when requested. She had the heart of an angel and will be missed by many whose lives she touched. Rest in peace and receive your reward Ms. Briscoe.

I just found out today, May 8, 2014, that my dear cousin, May Libby (as I called her) passed away last June. I so enjoyed our final conversation last year. I have many good memories of her, and so regret not having spoken to her again before she passed away, which is a shock. She will always be held dear in my heart. I can even remember her visiting us in California when she was 14. She and my mother sat with my Great Aunt Mint as she lay dying. May Libby spoke to me of many quietly miraculous things in this world. I love you. Farewell dear cousin! Love always, Annie

I have just found that May Libbie, as I have called her for 69 years, has gone to be with her Lord. We met when I threw a dead squirrel on her at age 3! We were close as youths, but went our separate ways when we went to college. She was my oldest friend. I will miss her.

May you were such a wonderful friend and powerful woman. You truly lived a Godly life and inspired me so passionately to have the strength faith and courage of the life you lived. You will be greatly missed thank you for being a protector of the weak a defender of the lost and a inspiration to the hopeless. You were the Grandmother I always wanted and spiritual warrior I always needed. Rejoice you're prayers gave me purpose I hope I can carry your mantle as highly and fearless as you did. You set the bar pretty high. Thank you for being you. A truly wonderful and pure soul. I know you are worshipping with our creator and I will worship with you in the future.

May handled our homestudy for our first adoption. She had a heart for children and was so happy to help with placing a child in loving arms. We loved her from day one, and she will always have a special place in our hearts. Good-bye our friend, until we meet again...
