Obituary of Bill Mefford Jr.

<b>Georgetown</b> Bill Mefford, Jr., 66, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, January 20, 2014 in Merritt Island, FL. Bill was born April 29, 1947 in <b>Georgetown</b>, KY to the late William Granville Mefford, Sr. and Gladys Harp Stokes. He was a retired truck driver with J.B. Hunt Trucking Company and was a veteran of the US Air Force and the Navy. Bill and his son both served aboard the Naval aircraft carrier USS Saratoga (CV-60) and his grandson, Max Mefford, is currently serving active duty with the US Marine Corps. He also earned his Bachelor's Degree at Baptist College in Springfield, MO. Bill is survived by a daughter, Leslie (Thomas) Slone of LaGrange; a son William G. (Amy) Mefford, III of Flordia; a sister, Kathy Hackworth of <b>Georgetown</b>; and five grandchildren, Ryan Slone, Josh Slone, Maxwell Mefford, Katie Mefford Fishack and Erin Mefford. <b>Funeral Information</b> There will be a private graveside service.
