Obituary of Dord Fraley

<b>West Liberty, KY</b> Dord Fraley of <b>West Liberty, KY</b>, passed away Sunday, August 10, 2014, at Central Baptist Hospital, Lexington, KY, at the age of 65 after a long struggle with cardiomyopathy. He was born on September 13, 1948 in Moon, KY, son of the late Astor Hobson and Lexie Ellen (Ferguson) Fraley. Dord was a skilled craftsman and owned his own contracting company for many years in Portsmouth, Ohio and Orlando, Florida, and he gave all of his children the gift of working with their hands. As an ordained Baptist minister, he spent many years preaching and teaching in churches in southern Ohio, impressing upon his children with the importance of a spiritual life. Always one to strike up a conversation with strangers, he was able to leave an impact on many people that crossed his path. He was known to keep things light with his quick sense of humor, another gift he bestowed on his children. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Richmond Travis Fraley; and an infant grandson, Jamison Lee Sowards. Dord is survived by three children, Shelly (Jennifer) Stewart of Clinton Township, MI, Jonathan (Lauren) Fraley of Menomonee Falls, WI, and Jacob Fraley of Plano, TX; twelve grandchildren, Lauren, Perry, Faith, Kendra, Anne, Lana, Lacey, Matthew, Elizabeth, Garret, Lilah, and Ty; one great grandchild, Jamison; one sister and two brothers, Geneva (Buford) Sherman of <b>West Liberty, KY</b>, Dearl (Floetta) Fraley of <b>West Liberty, KY</b>, and Odell (Carol) Fraley of Martha, KY; and nine nieces and nephews, Keith (Julie) Sherman, Darrell (Michelle) Fraley, Sally (Byron) Brantley, Cindy (John) Montgomery, Chris (Ida) Fraley, Callie (Derek) Miller, Greg (Bonnie) Fraley, Glenna (Robert) Crouch, and Carla (Timothy) Pigman. <b>Funeral Information</b> A memorial service and burial will be held November 8 at Paris Ferguson Cemetery in West Liberty.
