Obituary of Mary Katherine Baldwin Schroeder

<b>Obituary</b> Mary Katherine Baldwin Schroeder, born August 18, 1928, went peacefully to be with our Lord on Wednesday, October 19, 2011, in Nicholasville, Kentucky, where she resided. She was born to the late Virgil Dale Baldwin and Lula Alma Sholders Baldwin in Fort Scott, Kansas. She was raised in Sullivan, Indiana, where her parents owned Milburn's Pharmacy for many years. As a teenager, she worked at the soda fountain where she cheerfully waited on customers. Mary K. married her High School Sweetheart, Eugene Nelson Schroeder, June 27, 1948. She had two children, JoAnn Schroeder Blizzard, of Richmond, Kentucky and David Nelson Schroeder, of Nicholasville, Kentucky. Mary K. was passionate about history, as her interests could attest. At Bartlett Chapel in Danville, Indiana, she spearheaded a Mission Conference for many years. Later, when she moved to Kentucky, she became a member of Brookside Baptist Church in Nicholasville . Mary K. was active in the D.A.R., and the Colonial Dames 17th Century. She attained the rank in the latter of National Historian General. She was a member of the 99s, a Lady pilot's Association, as well as a member of the Indianapolis Aero Club and a member of the Aviation Museum of Kentucky. She was also a member of the Historical Society of Jessamine County. She is survived by her loving husband, Eugene "Gene" Schroeder; daughter, JoAnn; son, David; grandchildren, Melissa Blizzard Bishop, Jeffrey Schroeder, and Alicia Schroeder Hayden; great grandchildren, Justin Blizzard, Sierra Nester, Chris Blizzard, Austin Blizzard; and great-great granddaughter, Autumn Rae Nester. She also leaves behind many beloved cousins and in-laws. She will be greatly missed. In additions to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Lee Warren Blizzard, and grandson, Christopher Blizzard. <b>Funeral Information</b> Visitation will be 4-7pm, Monday, October 24, 2011 at Clark Legacy Center in Brannon Crossing. Funeral service will follow at 7pm, officiated by Ret. Colonel and Pastor DeWayne Brewer. Burial will take place at 2pm, Wednesday, October 26, 2011 at Center Ridge Cemetery in Sullivan, Indiana.
